Chidimma Adetshina has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Nigerian to earn the title of first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant. Following the competition, Adetshina expressed her heartfelt gratitude on Instagram, recalling the immense support she received from Nigerians during her toughest moments. She also highlighted the lessons on unity and success she learned from the African continent.
Adetshina initially participated in the Miss South Africa contest, given that she was born and raised in the country. However, she withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition after reaching the finals, responding to concerns from some South Africans about her connections to the country.
